Our Story

The Buckinghamsire Golf Club resides within an historic country park, with our 17th century clubhouse exquisitely set on an island in the River Colne surrounded by Giant Sequoias and Lebanese Cedars. Fully refurbished in 2024, the house offers all the elegance of an English manor house combined with the most tasteful modern luxury in a golf setting.

Less than a 15-mile drive or train from London, still within the M25 London orbital and a mere 10 miles from Heathrow, we enjoy an envious location next to Denham Village.

The modern history of the estate starts in 1992, when first developed as a prestigious golf club by Asahi. Designed by legendary golf coach and course designer, John Jacobs, one of the fathers of the European Tour and twice Captain of the European Ryder Cup team. John was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2000.

The course offers a good but fair test for the skilled golfer, with glorious summer fescue rough a feature, along with beautifully maintained tees, fairways and greens. Indeed, under the investment of present owners Arora, the course now plays better than ever in our history. The course is supplemented by great practice facilities including Trackman Range & indoor golf studio, Short Game Area and a best-in-class Pro Shop. Coaching is available to elite players, those earlier into the golf journey and juniors.

From childhood family cycle rides through The Buckinghamshire’s wooded parkland estate, to father-and-son games of golf, owners Surinder and Sanjay Arora fell in love with the property long before becoming proprietors in 2018.

As long-standing headquarters of the Ladies European Tour, and host of US Women’s Open Qualifiers and the Rose Ladies Series, we enjoy an especially close link with the women’s professional game, just as our Scholars’ Programme aims to develop the golfing stars of the near future.

We embrace and encourage all the great traditions of the game – courtesy, fairness, camaraderie and sportsmanship – and do so in a members-only environment which promotes a great sense of belonging. We are truly a second home for our members.

Beyond the actual golf, the Club now offers an array of services across F&B, a select number of beautiful bedrooms, stunning Locker Rooms, “work from club” spaces and our Private Dining and Meeting Rooms. We pride ourselves on the personalised service offered to all members and guests throughout the Club.

We’ve entered a hugely exciting time for The Buckinghamshire, with significant investment in facilities, a growing world-wide reputation and an excellent cadre of newer members complementing those of longer-standing.
